Welcome to Jane Bolton Garden Design, we hope you will enjoy exploring the site and please get in touch if you have any questions.
Jane Bolton Garden Design provides a complete garden design service, working with you to ensure your needs for the garden are fully understood and also that the possibilities for the site are also clear.
Each garden has its own unique aspect, climate, soil, drainage in addition to the requirements you may have for using the space around your house. So it is just as important to understand what will grow and thrive as much as understanding what you want to use the garden for. The result is place you want to be in all year round.
The Gallery shows the wide variety of gardens that Jane has already worked on ranging for grand terraces through to arboretums and small challenging borders. This last one was a small triangular bed close to the front door of a house, in a shady spot with very sandy soil. It needed to provide year round interest, look good and cope with dry soil. It was planted at Easter, since when it has not stopped raining, so the plants are doing well.
Another project was for two sets of mixed herbaceous borders facing each other. The planting here was traditional English with lots of phlox, astrantias, geraniums and penstemons in pinks, purples and whites. As delightful as strawberries and cream.
Yet another project was for a front garden which whilst mainly south facing had a long shady area. The planting needed to provide privacy from the very open frontage and also colour and interest all year. A wide range of evergreen plants were used such as Pachysandra, Vinca and Bergenia with Viburnums and Daphnes providing delightful scent in the shady area and Cornus alba providing architectural colour in the winter.
So whether you want help unlocking the potential of a unruly garden or revitalising a tired border please get in touch.
